Create your own flavorful and spicy homemade mustard with just a few simple ingredients.

1/2 cup yellow or brown mustard seeds
1/2 cup white wine or apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon honey or sugar (optional)
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric (optional for color)
Additional water or vinegar for thinning

1. Combine the mustard seeds, vinegar, and water in a glass jar or bowl. Cover and let soak at room temperature for 24-48 hours to soften the seeds.

2. Once soaked, transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor.

3. Add salt, honey or sugar, and turmeric if using.

4. Blend until smooth, adding more water or vinegar a teaspoon at a time to reach your desired consistency.

5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

6. Transfer the mustard to a clean jar, seal, and let it sit for at least 24 hours before use to allow flavors to meld.
